  1. Just thought I'd chime in to say I own the C70 and (unfortunately have to) shoot on the A1 a fair bit. Can't say too much about the A1's image as I don't deal with post, and I don't know if the person grading knows what they're doing or not. But, in a pure ease of use kind of thing, the A1 is horrible to shoot on. The autofocus is great, I'll give it that, but everything else is a pain in the ass. In body exposure tools suck, everything has to go through a ninja for decent codecs, battery life is average, the menus are just so unintuitive. If you want to record S log, you don't select S log, you have to find Picture Profile 8. The only way of knowing which picture profile is log is by googling it before hand. Why not just call it S log? It overheats (esp if IBIS is on). I dunno, I just don't trust it. With that said I only shoot sony when asked to and I'm not as familiar with the idiosyncrasies of the menu. As for the C70, I reeally love this camera. I wish it had SDI outs. I wish it was more or a box design and the autofocus was as good as sony (it's good but not great - face only is good but the one touch tracking is so so). But as for everything else, it's a workhorse. Battery life is top notch. The BPA 30 that comes with it gets you 3 hours. You can record 12 bit internal raw. 120 4k clog 2. 10 stops of ND (in two stop increments though, would be nice if they were one stop, though of late I've been dancing between 400-800 iso to dial the exposure in just how I want it - you lose a bit of the highlights a 400 but gives you more latitude in the lower end which I almost prefer). It has 13 custom buttons, so I can quickly switch between false colour, autofocus, digital IS, peaking, slow and fast recording etc. Soundies love it for the time code out and two mini XLRs. Small enough to fly on a gimbal if you have to. I'd be keen to get a komodo too, but other than slightly better image quality and the box design, I can't really justify it. And the image quality from the C70 is really nice. I prefer it over the A1, Ursa, FX3. I'm interested in the sigma FP and the Fuji xh2s but will probably hold out until there's a new offering from canon or red. Just thought I'd go to bat for the C70
