  1. Thanks for that video link Kellee. It is certainly informative and gives me ideas on future filters.
  2. I'm shooting with two old 8mm cameras, a Keystone K25 and a Bolex B8. Both have shutter speeds of 1/30 and I'm shooting with Fomapan R100. I live in Las Vegas where the sun is always blazing so, even with the aperture stopped down all the way to F/22, I'm likely to greatly over-expose. To compensate for this, I'm crafting an ND8 (3-stop) filter for the cameras and hope this will allow me to shoot in bright daylight. Has anyone tried something similar or foresee any potential problems? Thanks, Eric
  3. I'm brand new to cine cameras and have a Bolex B8 with Pizar 5.5mm f/1.9 lens. Each lens aperture setting has a correlating distance. For example f/1.9 has a distance of 50cm. I'm assuming, at f/1.9, the camera is focused f/1.9 to ∞. So, essentially, if I keep my subject at least 50cm from the film plane, my subject will be in focus. Is this correct? Based on my experience with still cameras, it seems quite forgiving for an f/1.9 aperture but otherwise seems to make sense.
  4. I have a Keystone K25 Capri. It seems to work reasonably well though I only get a tad over 20 seconds on a full motor wind. I'm not sure what is normal. I'd like to open it up to clean/lubricate it but can't seem to find any information on anyone actually doing this. Does anyone know of any website, video, etc. that shows how to open a K25 up or a camera similar to it? Also, if anyone can share experience regarding the typical run time of a full motor wind, I would appreciate it. Thanks! Eric
