  1. I really wouldnt use a 9.8mm to cut to any s4 cooke lens unless I really need the effect of a 9.8mm distortion or a really wide "music video"(close to fisheye effect) look which the s4 cooke lenses don't give you. Besides I dont think you wanna cut from a 9.8mm to a longer lens in a scene because it would look a little abrupt in terms of "camera story telling". I think the 9.8mm creates an unrealistic wide angle compared to other lenses above 12-14mm. Plus personally, I wouldnt mix S4 Cookes with Zeiss primes. I'd rather just NOT rent out the 2pcs of S4 lenses and probably grab a whole set of Ultra primes instead or just stick with the Regular primes if they're still too expensive.
  2. Yes. I dont really think there is a need to calculate since you will never be on a set without a light meter. :)
  3. Try his name on google. I just checked. You might find a lot of sites there about him.
  4. Hey congratulations and good luck on that new project! I'll be intersted to see how big your night scenes are and how you light it. Im sure we'll hear posts from you later on. Ive never worked on anamorphic and Super-35 but your right, T/2.8 is pretty scary to work on for a bunch of night exteriors. Hope you can share your insights on shooting Super-35 later on too. Good luck again!!!
  5. Hi there. Im sorry but I really have no experience with unions here in the country i live in (Philippines). Lets say Im working as a freelance DP locally and I plan to move to the States. Im sorry I havent been in the U.S. yet. Lets say again Ive done a few local full length feature films and commercials here and have compiled a reel to show. How hard is it to apply in the union? What are the requirements? I know that also depends on how good you are but do you have any suggestions or inputs on where I would probably start( especially if you dont know anyone to start with?) Thanks a lot in advanced.
