  1. This blimp is in really nice condition for it's age. I think it'd be a classy display piece - especially if you pick up a wooden tripod for it. This is for a LOCAL SALE ONLY in Los Angeles. I won't/can't ship this heavy blimp, unfortunately. I do not have a case for this blimp, so someone will need to pick up and pay cash (or Zelle) in person. I usually live in NYC but plan to visit LA at the end of April. If timing doesn't work for a sale while I'm visiting LA, a family member can assist with the transaction. I never actually used this blimp, but in the early 2010s I did have an electrician friend who worked at Clairmont Camera change out the cracked old plastic power cable connector on it. It used to have a very old (and unrecognizable to me) power connector, and my friend changed it to a 12V 4-pin Cannon (XLR). So that's the connector that can now power the blimp (to power camera inside and light inside the blimp). I can make no guarantees about the functionality of this blimp and how much it could quiet down a 16S since it's been a while since I did a test run of a camera in it. From my memory, I think one plate was for the an Arri 16S camera, and the other type of plate was for the Arri 16M camera, but I don't remember if I actually ever tested both my 16S and 16M cameras in this blimp when I owned them, so I really can't make any promises there either. If I had the space for this at my NYC apartment (I really don't, unfortunately), I'd keep this and put it on display. As you can see in the pictures, there are some small spots of light rust. You can also see the fabric accordion style matte box bellows have gotten a little rough over the years. This was stored in a climate controlled house (not a garage), but there are a few signs of it's age. 2. Full set serviced less than a year ago by Charles Pickel at Serious Gear. The glass is pristine aside from a tiny pinprick on the rear element coating of the 9.5mm, has absolutely no effect on the image whatsoever. Message me if you're interested and want photos of the individual lenses, they really are absolutely pristine! Markings are in feet, NOT metric. Here are a couple projects I shot with these lenses, they produce some really beautiful images: https://www.fiokarpenko.com/thick-and-heavy https://www.fiokarpenko.com/howl Looking to get $14,000 for the full set.
  3. For sale here is one of Tobin's last (newest) crystal motors ever made for the Arri 16S or 16M. Runs forwards only. Crystal speeds: 12, 20, 24, 25, 30, 40, 50 fps. This was bought new directly from Tobin and has only been run to test a few of times. More information from the Tobin website (a pdf download link) http://www.tobincinemasystems.com/TCS_Public_PDF/TXM22A.pdf Please see my other listings, I'm moving and selling a bunch of gear. Available for $600 O.B.O! Available for pick up in West Hollywood through this Saturday. For convenience, preference will be given if there is a buyer in the LA area who will pick up in person and pay cash. Pictures! http://www.flickr.com/photos/95212445@N02/sets/72157633331298455/ Send me a PM if interested. Thanks for looking! Rich
  4. Hi, I'm struggling to find a 400 foot magazine for the Arriflex 16m that will ship to Australia. It looks similar to the 16bl magazine but has slightly different drive gears. If you have one you'd be willing to sell and send overseas, let me know. (I'd also be interested in the 1200 foot mag if anyone has one) Thanks - Aren
  5. I know these are rare- Looking for x2 Arri 416 Magazines, let me know if you have any to sell. Many thanks.
  6. I'm selling my 16mm Arriflex 16M camera with 3x 400' mags and variable speed motor. Camera was purchased from forum member Tim Carroll maybe 2-3 years ago if I remember right. I had it checked out by a technician and shot a registration test after I got it and it checked out fine. I like the 16M for it's hinged door, simple threading and gear-driven mags (as opposed to the 400' mags for the 16S which have their own separate torque motor). Please see, I'm also selling a beautiful fiberglass blimp that will fit this camera, and crystal-sync motors. I don't have a case for the camera but there is a case for the mags. More pictures on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/95212445@N02/sets/72157633331322365/ $400 O.B.O. __________________________________________________ Consider this a listing for a great Tobin Crystal TXM-22 motor. It comes with a camera, but just think of that as a bonus since the camera may not be worth a whole bunch. I've never shot with it, or with the included mags. I bought it off Craigslist from a DP/Operator on the other side of the country about a year or two ago and one technician who looked at it told me some of the design choices in converting this camera to S16 looked risky and shooting with it may not be worth the risk. I've heard this is one of two or three 16S cameras converted to S16/PL mount by Van Diemen in the UK. It seemed to run fine and the previous owner promised he shot lots of footage on it with no problems so maybe I'm just being paranoid. But! It came with this awesome motor. I actually like it better than the final refinement, the TXM-22A, since the "A" model can't run in reverse. Also included are two of the rare 200' mags for the 16S, although as I mentioned, I never tested them, so this is all "AS IS". There are also two 400' 16S mags. Each mag has it's own torque motor, and I was told by the person I bought these from that they've all been upgraded to be 12V compatible. There is no case for the mags. The camera body case is a bit old looking but still latches closed firmly. The foam is a bit of a mess. No power cables or batteries or lenses are included. 7. I'm selling my very rare Arriflex 16 Fiberglass Blimp. This is for use with either a 16S or a 16M and and mounting plates for both are included. This was purchased a few years ago from forum member Tim Carroll who also ran the great website www.arri16s.com. Tim did a beautiful job of restoring this gorgeous piece of film history. The lens pictured is not included. The 16M camera and mags are not included, although they are for sale separately (see separate listing). They are in these photos only to demonstrate how a camera would fit inside the blimp. I also am separately selling a Tobin TXM-22A motor that would go very well with this blimp. The blimp's shutter advance knob seems just a few mm too short to reach the Tobin's knob, so you may want into fashioning an extension on the rubber knob that reaches toward the motor on the inside of the blimp. One of the two latches is broken on the wooden shipping case but everything made it to me ok with that broken and it's always held shut firmly enough with just the one latch. Also, the power cable that connects a 12V battery (4-pin Cannon) to the outside of the blimp will need to be rewired if you intend to use the blimp for anything besides decoration. This cable provides power for the camera inside to run, as well as power for the interior lightbulbs so you can push buttons and see things inside like the fps tachometer. The cable was just old and brittle and started melting in one spot (a couple of photos are included). The connectors both look fine, so I would guess a technician could make you a replacement cable or two. I just haven't had time to get that done. The seals on the two doors (the top magazine door and the side camera body door) don't seem quite as tight as they were a few years ago so that may be one other thing to have checked if you intend to use it for the purpose it was designed. When I first got this from Tim, it did an amazing job of silencing a very noisy 16S, but I have not tested it recently. The thought that went into the intricate design of this blimp is really impressive. It is in excellent condition. I would love to keep this as decoration for my apartment but I moved to NYC a few months ago and there just isn't space. $800 O.B.O. Please send me a PM if interested. I'm free to show it in Montebello, CA through Tuesday 12/3. If that's too soon, I can coordinate another time for for a relative of mine to show it to you since I'll be heading back to New York. For convenience, preference will be given if there is a buyer in the LA area who will pick up in person and pay cash. 8. Hello! I have been trying to outfit my Arriflex 16MB with a sync motor for music videos or similar (knowing how loud my camera is). I purchased a 60hz - 42v sync motor without its transformer for a reasonably low price on ebay. I shouldn't have any trouble building my own transformer but the connector on the motor is a little confusing to me. Does anybody know what the pins are on these 60hz - 42v motors? I assume there is a ground, pilot tone, +/- 42v, maybe a secondary at 8vdc for the torque motor on the SB model? Any help would be appreciated!!
  9. Selling off my 16mm kit. Includes the following: - Canon Scoopic 16M with 12.5-75mm 1.8 lens - Two (2) Canon S-12 Batteries (1 has fresh, working cells and the other needs service) - Canon S-12 Battery Charger - Canon Scoopic Carrying Case - Cable Release - Filter Set: - Canon 72mm UV 1x Filter - Canon 72mm Skylight Filter - Tiffen 72mm FL-B Filter The camera is in excellent working order. The motor runs smoothly at all speeds and the interior and exterior are also very clean. The glass is free of scratches, haze, fungus, etc. As with any lens, there may be some microscopic dust on the inside of the lens, but nothing that affects image quality in any noticeable way. The one battery was re-celled within the past month and works as new. The battery charger is also in normal working condition. A charged battery will supposedly last for 100 reels of 100' stock. Regarding the filters: I have never used this set of filters. They were included when I purchased the camera and they are not in great shape. I am only including them in case someone can make better use of them than I did. Asking $500 plus exact shipping costs. Please don't hesitate to message me with any questions you may have. Thanks!
  10. Ok, here's the deal. Consider this a listing for a great Tobin Crystal TXM-22 motor. It comes with a camera, but just think of that as a bonus since the camera may not be worth a whole bunch. Each mag has it's own torque motor, and I was told by the person I bought these from that they've all been upgraded to be 12V compatible. The camera has been upgraded with a 4-pin Cannon (aka XLR) power connector instead of the old Arri 2-pin "banana plug". It's also been fitted with a 80fps max tachometer (I believe taken from an Arri 2C H.S.) There is no case for the four mags. The camera body case is a bit old looking but still latches closed firmly. The foam is a bit of a mess. No power cables or batteries or lenses are included. Selling for only $800!!! Available to see in West Hollywood through this Saturday. After that, get in touch and I can coordinate a time when you can check it out. For convenience, preference will be given if there is a buyer in the LA area who will pick up in person and pay cash.
