  1. Does anyone have metrics on the photoflex starlite or chimera triolet 1k's? I've used the triolet once, a few years ago and was wondering how the output compares to using Mole or Arri open face pars with the same modifier. Since they have much larger globes and are made specifically to use with softboxes I would think they have more punch. Also, the photoflex starlites use the same globes as the triolet so I would assume they have the same output. Photoflex has an interesting speedring that fits 4 starlites into 1 softbox, effectively making a cheap barger like setup. The lamps go for about 50 bucks used, so you could potentially have a 4k soft light that can be run on household power. Anyone tried or seen this?? Side note : I know tungsten is not in style but a lot of productions are still using it ?
  2. Hello colleagues, I'm shooting my first film on 35mm in the of next month and I've been in contact with a lab in Stockholm about the developing and scanning. The quote they sent me, however, has left me a little puzzled - and instead of potentially making a fool out of myself with them I'll take my chances with you guys (ha). They want to charge me for 2 scans - 1k AND 2k. The lines in the quote are the following: Scan 1K onelight 35mm 4perf Scan 2k EDL to dpx Is it really necessary to have a total of two scans? Since skipping the 1K could potentially save us a substantial amount of money I'd just want to make sure. This particular lab is the only place left in Scandinavia for developing 35mm, so I doubt they're trying to rip me off. Thankful for any answers! Best, Kaspar
  3. We shot this in one night. for several hours. We had one mark III camera, 35mm L-series lense and Rokinon 14mm prime lense. We only had I one 1k for light with one day light gel. The extra blue and red flare was add in post. We also used a skated board dolly for some of the pans.
  4. Doing night shoot in some remote roads, having trouble finding a power adapter or a way to power a 1k off a car. Is this possible?
