  1. Hi all, I own an Aaton XTR s16 camera. Currently I have a PL hard mount on the camera and have only used the camera with rented PL glass, but I also own the original Aaton Mount, which has a much shorter FFD than the PL mount (40mm compared with PL 52mm). So I’m looking for adapters that would allow me to put vintage lenses (with ffds between 40mm and 52mm) on the camera that will cover the s16 film plane (i.e. m42, Canon FD, Nikon f, etc). Does anyone know if there are any adapters out there that would allow me to put any of these lenses on my Aaton camera mount? If so, where can I find them? Thanks for your help! - Clay
  2. Recently got an Aaton LTR 7 in great shape, came with Nikon F and PL mounts, both of which work great with their respective lenses. I have a bunch of old M42 lenses that I used with my K3 and I want to try them with my Aaton. I bought an M42 -> PL adapter but the only lens I can get to fit in the grooves of the adaptor is the Meteor 17-69mm; the other lenses are too wide at the base to fit. I've tried a couple different M42 -> Nikon F adapters but the flanges are off because I can't focus on any of the M42 lenses. No idea if there are M42 mounts for Aaton cameras out there but if anyone has any tips for me, much would be appreciated!
  3. Dear Cinematographers, Was intending to shoot film and lens tests with a super 16 Krasnogorsk-3, in preparation for a project done on an Aaton XTR PROD. Now is there any way that I might use the M42 mount lenses for the Krasnogorsk (namely, Zenitar 16/2.8; Pentax Super-Takumar 50/1.4; &c.), later on for the Aaton? Do they have M42 to Aaton adapters? Someone else posed this question awhile ago, but they never received any clear answers. Sincerely Grateful, Kurt Cassidy-Gabhart
  4. Hey Dudes...i cam across this awesome Schneider Optivaron, with an unusual mount. The thread is the same as M42 but it has a long barrel, so I am not sure what camera (possibly film camera) this lens made for. Its not a C mount, and the rear side of the lens diameter is equivalent to standard 35mm film camera lenses. I am trying to hook this up with a Panasonic AF m43 but so far, because of the M42 lens converter I have, makes this lens barrel way too close to the sensor...so everything is out of focus and range.. if you have any suggestion, i would really appreciate it Thanks guys!
  5. Hello all, I've recently acquired a Bolex h16 non-reflex camera to try shooting a bit of film. I'm new to it. The camera serial # is 88806 and according to the bolex collector website this is a camera from 1936-1937. It does not have the octometer for parallax correction or top viewfinder cup. All I have is the camera itself with no extras. My hope is to use a m42 to c-mount adapter on the camera so I could use my pentax still photo lenses, but I don't know how this would work on this type of camera or if it is even possible. I'm trying to figure out: - If I would be able to focus correctly using the pentax lenses and adapter by looking through the top viewfinder. - How the octometer works. How do you compose shots using different focal lengths with this system and would it be possible using the m42 lenses? Thanks, Austin
