seth christian
I'm getting a color video tap on my Bolex EBM and dont really know what kind of little monitor to use for this. Spending enough with the camera tap, so not looking to spend a lot with the monitor unless its really vital to take advantage of the whole purpose. Experiences using certain brands and sizes? recommendations? Edited May 7, 2007 by seth christian

Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted May 21, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted May 21, 2007 Personally, I'd take a CRT over a LCD monitor anyday. Also, I'd suggest getting it from a real company, like BHphoto up in New York as opposed to ebay. Like the camera itself, the monitor is an investment, and you'll want to get as high a quality as you can. Look for a CRT with at least 525 horizontal scan lines. I recommend either a Sony or a JVC. The smaller sonys, like the 9" can also be battery powered, and you also have to make sure that the monitor you go with has the proper input for the output on the video tap. For professional video this is normally a BNC cable.

Premium Member Brad Grimmett Posted May 31, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted May 31, 2007 Transvideo makes nice monitors. I know a lot of people that own them and love them. Remember to get something sunlight viewable since you won't have an eyepiece to look in if you have problems seeing the monitor.
