Sergei Levy
I'm trying to nail down some info on Polanski's debut film, Knife in the Water. If anyone has any information regarding technical aspects of this film, contribution would be appreciated. I've tried to google it, but not much info comes up regarding types of stock used, types of camera. Even if it was 16 or 35. I'd go with the former, probably. Matt Duriez
i've got no idea what stock or cameras were used but it was shot on 35mm, so that answers part of your question. try the us.imdb.com page on the film, you might be able to find some more info there. Premium Member Wendell_Greene Posted November 5, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted November 5, 2004 According to the liner notes of my criterion DVD they used an Arriflex camera, often handheld, by both Polanksi and DP Jerzy Lipman. So perhaps an Arri 2C? Not sure about the filmstock, but I'm sure someone else here like David would probably give you the the choice(s) of B&W negative stocks that were available to someone filming in Poland back in 1962. Since this is Final Jeopardy, I'm going to guess "Afga" for $400 and control of the board, Mr. Trebek :)
