Alvin Pingol
The Matrix modifies color rendition, gamma, and contrast. Visual Example by John Beale V DETAIL actually modifies how the CCD captures and processes images. One mode will give you sharper images, but with side effects: aliasing on diagonal lines in motion and a loss of sensitivity (I think it's about one stop). There are articles on the web that go much more into depth about this feature. Google it if you want...
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted November 2, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted November 2, 2004 Hi, The problem with these settings is that what they're called is generally decided by the marketing committee not the engineering department and therefore the names often don't mean much, and certainly don't often have much commonality between cameras. I would expect V DETAIL to probably control the amount of interline blending that's done to prevent excessive interlace flicker. Play with it and find out!
