Riza Nur Pacalioglu
Hi everyone, this is my 1st post. I searched the forum but couldn't find an answer to my question. If it has already been answered before please accept my apologies. When you scan a 3-perf film in 2K resolution what is the pixel resolution of the resulting DPX or TIFF file? Thanks in advance. Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted July 13, 2010 Premium Member Share Posted July 13, 2010 Depends slightly on exactly which scanner you use and how it handles full aperture (or at least full-width, in the case of 3-perf) shooting. Generally either 2048 wide or 1900-ish wide by however high you're cropping it. P
Andrew Sidwell
The standard 2K 3-perf res (if there is such a thing) is 2048x1156, but as Phil says it depends how much your scanner crops it. I've seen 3-perf come off a Spirit as 2048x1165.
Elliot Rudmann
Arriscan sets it at 2048x1152, but the pixel height can be manually adjusted to gain extra info on the top and bottom of each frame.
