Premium Member Vincent Sweeney Posted August 19, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted August 19, 2011 Has a (properly funded) feature been done before on S16mm with anamorphic glass? Looks great. Trailer
Jason Reimer
I lived for three years in the Central African Republic where my dad was a missionary pilot, flying medevacs and teaching in an African Bible school. That country had so many of its own problems, plus poachers from the neighboring countries, and more recently the LRA and rebel groups from other countries hiding out there and causing trouble. I definitely have some fond memories of our time there, though, so I'm definitely going to have to see this one. And I'm curious what anamorphic 16mm will look like! Thanks for the heads-up, Vincent. Premium Member Tim O'Connor Posted August 21, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted August 21, 2011 Looks cool. Any idea of the budget on this?
Antti Näyhä
IMDb says it’s estimated at $40M. I read somewhere that they used Vantage’s Hawk V-Lite 16 1.3x anamorphics. The low squeeze factor still gives you the flares, but there is much less distortion in the out-of-focus areas compared to 2x.
