Has anyone found a way of doing this? I noticed online that there is an android app that allows you to view the output of a canon dslr by running a cable from the HDMI output of the camera to the mini usb port of an Nexus 7, etc.

After having reviewed 720P field monitors in the $1K to $3k cost range it occurred to me that this method (or perhaps the wifi capability of the camera) could be used to take advantage of the incredible 2600x1600 screen on a samsung 8.4" tablet ($275). This is the same resolution that used to cost $3,000 to purchase the incredible Apple 30” Cinema Screen. But after buying one and trying - I can't get it to work.

Does anyone know of a work-around to use a tablet as a field monitor with this camera?

Wouldn't you need the optional wi-fi adaptor to do this?

It has an ethernet port but I assume your tablet won't.

You might be better asking about this over at DVX user as it's such a new camera there won't be a lot of people with experience of it and at least Barry Green has been allowed to play with one for an extended period! :)
