Joe Gill
I have 2 of their 35-3's and just noticed they have a modified socket with a square peg in it instead of the usual frame advance. Does anybody know if this is really a hand-crank or just for a direct drive motor or ? Does anybody then know where I can source two of these hand cranks? Attached is image of the socket. Thanks, Joe

Premium Member Richard Joneleit Posted November 11, 2019 Premium Member Share Posted November 11, 2019 I worked in the rental dept at Clairmont from 2006 to 2013 and there weren't any hand crank Arri 3s at that time - only somewhere between two and four 2C hand cranks. You could check with Andree Martin about that port, he'd know what it's for. I think there should be a cap for that port.
Joe Gill
Thanks! There is a cap!
Joe Gill
This is for a Norris Intervalometer, not a hand crank. One could be machined with a reduction gear, but I don't know if it will be done anytime soon. Thanks to Andree Martin for helping figure this out!
