Daniel Putnam
Hello, I recently found this device and am wondering if anyone may have insight into what it was used for or what era it is from. It is labeled “Filmo Color Screen Pat. Appl'd for” and has four color lenses. I can’t seem to submit a photo, and since no amount research online will produce another example, that is all I can give at this time.
Premium Member Frank Wylie Posted November 13, 2023 Premium Member Share Posted November 13, 2023 With such sparse information, I can only take a stab in the dark. Perhaps the Morgana Process? https://filmcolors.org/timeline-entry/1259/#/infobox/37170
Premium Member Simon Wyss Posted November 14, 2023 Premium Member Share Posted November 14, 2023 The Bell & Howell Color Screen Attachment accessory of 1927 is placed in front of the lens of the Filmo 57 projector. It allows to swivel any of four filters of the hues pink, amber, green, and blue into the light beam at will. It was meant to enhance the moods of black-and-white film scenes.
