Which is 24 fps?? the numbers on the Arri S variable motor are not calibrated to have any special meaning except as a reference. when you start the camera and adjust the tach to 24 fps you may find that the number is half way up like 5 or so. When you see that you have to turn the dial up to still get 24 fps you know that your battery is running low. Also it can be a clue to any other drag that the camera may be encountering. If you want a pretty stable 24 you need to get the governor controlled "constant speed" motor instead. These were intended for sound filming if the camera was also equipped with the pilot signal generator. If you want perfectly stable 24 suitable for double system sound filming (if you can muffle the camera noise or film from a block away), shooting under HMI or fluorescent lights without pulsation, or making music videos, you might consider our TXM-22A crystal motor.
