tom quinn
hey all i have a shoot this weekend and am using 7218 500T stock. I may be adding an outdoor component, but do not have a correction filter. Will I be able to warm this up when I correct during my transfer to digibeta? thanks tom
Marcus Frakes
Can you rent a filter or mattebox combo? I have converted such footage in post using color correction, but it's better if you shoot with a filter to start with.

I always would try to correct with an LLD (no light loss) or at least an 85ef. If you want to print there will be a problem as the blue layer is overexposed. Sam Wells
Hi Tom ! More wiggle with than without. As you can get an 85 as easily as an LLD no reason not to. If you who I think, you can rent filters @ Videosmith rentals. I've rented 85/ND combos etc there. -Sam
John Holland
To honest cant remember i used a 85 filter , this is going back at least 15 years , if going to tape or print . Easy correction and you get that extra speed without filter . John holland . London.
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted November 25, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted November 25, 2005 The bigger problem of not using filters with 7218 outdoors is needing ND's if it's fairly bright outside. And if you get some ND's, you might as well make then 85/ND combos.
