Premium Member Aapo Lettinen Posted October 2, 2024 Premium Member Posted October 2, 2024 Some people have asked me about making new electronics for the GSMO camera. Is there anyone here with a gsmo which has non-working electronics and need to restore it in working condition? price range would be something between 1100 and 1500usd for the update and about half a year or so to develop it but would know better if there is orders for this kind of system 🙂 1
Premium Member Aapo Lettinen Posted May 30, 2025 Author Premium Member Posted May 30, 2025 I still have one time slot between September and November 2025 to make GSMO electronics but will need one of the gsmo bodies here in June-July to make the plans and confirm the exact features and price. I am planning on adapting my 45-speed cp16r electronics to work with the gsmo to make it more affordable and target price for the update kit would be approximately 900usd, less than a grand in any case. Will try to make it user installable but can confirm that if getting one gsmo body here for evaluation. I am probably moving on to other type of projects next year so this is likely the last chance to get new control electronics for the GSMO if you need them. The most critical now is to get one of the gsmo bodies here for evaluation and tests so that I can confirm the exact price, schedule and features and can begin planning the update. Like mentioned I only have one time slot available for this gsmo project so the schedule is pretty critical. let me know asap by DM or on instagram (aaplet14). Premium Member Aapo Lettinen Posted September 21, 2025 Author Premium Member Posted September 21, 2025 (edited) If anyone is still interested in ordering this CP-GSMO electronics update: I haven't received any GSMO cameras here to take dimensions from and if wanting to make the update I would need one here in November-December 2025. Otherwise would run out of time to make the update because it is very likely I don't have time to make it after April2026 and then it would not be made at all. So if someone wants to order this kind of update, I need a gsmo camera here for Christmas 2025 to design the update. otherwise it won't be made. The camera needs to be mechanically working and the original electric motor needs to work but otherwise don't need the original electronics so mechanically working camera with broken electronics would be fine. Need the camera body and one working magazine, no batteries needed. You would get the camera back between April2026 and July2026 depending on how long it takes to finish everything and the camera would have the update installed and ready to go then. price is the 900usd like mentioned earlier but you would get free installation and testing if sending the camera for the design process. Premium Member Aapo Lettinen Posted January 7 Author Premium Member Posted January 7 I have access to reference GSMO and I'm working on the update at the moment. I am replacing the whole right side cover of the camera with new cnc made aluminium cover and build the new control electronics inside that. It also allows making mounting points for modern battery plates like v-lock plates. The project is moving forward now. Ordering deadline is March15th, 2026 for all orders, need to be at least partially paid by then. Only one batch will be made as I need to order all the aluminium parts at once and manually finish them to fit perfectly to the camera. Not available later. Price 1200usd with shipping for the installation kit if fully paid for before deadline. 1400usd if partially paid before deadline and the rest afterwards. Shipping somewhere in Summer2026. It is likely the side panel will have a oled display with similar style speed selection and footage counters than my Aaton Counter but will need to test it. In any case the new panel will have a framerate display and a footage counter display.
