Tobias xiaoma Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 Faced with the issue of misaligned scale markings, our engineer, lacking relevant experience, are concerned that dismantling the aperture might damage other components. Should any other component be damaged, and given that we don't have any spare parts for the Leica Summicron C, we would need to order from the official supplier, which would be quite troublesome. We are not familiar with the internal structure of the Leica Summicron C lens, which seems quite complex, featuring spring mechanisms, and is vastly different from the Ultra Prime and Master Prime lenses. We wonder if anyone has a good solution to this problem. Thank you all!
Premium Member Dom Jaeger Posted November 24, 2024 Premium Member Posted November 24, 2024 I’m not quite sure what the issue is .. you talk about misaligned scale markings but also working on the aperture? … but if you don’t have experience working on these lenses, send them to a technician that does. These are expensive and complex assemblies, and you can easily create more problems than the one you are trying to solve. Leitz does basic training courses on them if your technician needs to learn more. 1
Tobias xiaoma Posted November 24, 2024 Author Posted November 24, 2024 Hi,Dom,thank you for your information. You guide is important. As a result,I think it is better to leave it to expert.
Tyler Fukuda Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 Hey there Tobias. I'm no lens technician so take this with a grain of salt, but from my experience working with cinema lenses, a lot of lenses do 'focus' past infinity -- As in, the focus ring will travel past the infinity mark. If your lenses are not hitting their marks, then the lens will likely need to be shimmed. If that doesn't fix this problem then perhaps it's something that has to deal with something internal, but that's far less likely. Cheers and I hope that answers your question. 1
