Joerg Polzfusz
Merry Christmas! 🎄 Good luck and a lot of fun with the Kowa - and remember that it’s dual focus (both the camera’s lens and the Kowa have to be set to the same distance) and that it’s only oriented correctly on the camera when everyone is looking extremely slim. 🙂

I’m starting to get the necessary hardware together, I’ve ordered the correct adapters from Rafcamera (thanks to a tip in another post from Dom Jaeger) and I think I can get my hands on a single focus diopter to cut down on the fiddliness of double focus. Meanwhile I can develop the test roll I have in the camera and work on getting the best finished product possible. No rest…
Bill Hunt
Well, here’s Artie Shaw at 2x anamorphic… which is obviously not how the film was shot, but I had to check the lens somehow. I’m waiting on some parts to arrive after which I’ll be able to put the camera together pretty much the way I’d like it to function. I stumbled upon some information that might be of use to anyone else going down the Kowa 16s path; the barrel (43mm) is the same diameter as European drill collars. There’s any number of collar/clamp variations to be had quite cheaply via a Google search, including ones that can be adjusted to various angles and clamped/bolted into place—quite handy for holding your lens for testing.
