Premium Member Tristan Clarke-McMurchy Posted January 27 Premium Member Posted January 27 Hi all, I have run into an issue with my 4-perf Arri 35-III and framing. When I frame things to be centered in my viewfinder, my scans don't match up. Everything in my scans is weighted to the right side of the frame. I feel like this is something along the lines of having an S35 gate, but then my viewfinder/ground glass is still set for academy? See images attached for viewfinder reference versus scans. Thanks all, Tristan
Premium Member Tristan Clarke-McMurchy Posted January 27 Author Premium Member Posted January 27 I forgot to mention - I am simply looking for a solution so that my viewfinder framing is as accurate to what my full open gate scans will be, as I like to use the entire negative area as much as possible. So if that means getting a new ground glass, or having to get a S35 door, let me know if anyone has experience with this. Thanks!
Phillip Mosness Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Hey there. Many 35III mounts were recentered for Super 35 but perhaps your ground glass is for Academy. It's fairly simple to switch those out.
