Premium Member Laurent Andrieux Posted March 3, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted March 3, 2006 Frame rate : 24 fps is the standard cinema speed all over the world, though many theaters have a tendancy to screen at 25 fps, allowing a 4% time gain (as to pass more adverts, for instance). Remember Arri is a european company (german) so the 25 fps is used for TV (both Pal and SECAM systems work at 25 fps) in Europe. I don't remember what the 50 Hz/60 Hz option is used for... May be a Pilotone sound sync system... The idea being that the current frequency is 50 Hz in Europe and 60 Hz in US. Don't know wich is better (24 or 25) for TV films in US, I guess 24, but I'm not sure.
