Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted March 26, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted March 26, 2006 I saw this in December in a limited LA release. Looks great, production design and lighting are amazing -- but the D.I. is rather artifacty and the CGI work very cartoonish at times, and the story itself is all over the map. Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted March 26, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted March 26, 2006 I don't mind the hyper-stylized storybook look -- one of my favorite HK films is "The Bride with White Hair" -- it's just that the CGI action at times bordered on a Tex Avery ridiculousness, much more so than "Hero", "Crouching Tiger", "House of Flying Daggers", etc.
Dominik Muench
im excited to see that peter pau shot it, the bamboo fighting sequence in crouching tiger is one of my all time favourite movie scenes, and my favourite composer klaus badelt made the score :)
