I prefer to watch the movie...not be impressed by the cinematographer...that should happen later.

My wife praised "Akeelah and the Bee" for looking so natural that she was totally pulled into the story, not sitting in a theater watching a movie. If you haven't, read David Mullen's weekly "In Production" forum postings from "Akeelah", there's a lot of good information in it about shooting a film with a very naturalistic look. I've never met David face to face but he can certainly dine out at least once on my nickel when, and if, I do.
