Premium Member Michael Nash Posted August 30, 2006 Premium Member Posted August 30, 2006 I've been through the manual and I'm still looking... But does anyone know how to sych TC bewteen two HD100's? I haven't spotted a TC out port, and Firewire only seems to apply to dubbing footage from one camera to another. Is there some trick I can do with a remote, a la the DVX 100?
Michael Collier Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Generally if it doesnt have Gen-lock in or a TC input (even if it has TC out) it won't jam to timecode. I have never seen a camera take its gen of firewire, though in theory it may be possible. The best I have done on cameras like that is to set the timecode manually to 00:00:00.00 on both cameras and then at the same time flip the selector switch to "free run" this usually puts them close, and a slate at the beginning (even a slate in the shop, before you get to set) will give you good idea of how far apart they are. Then its just a small hassle to remember +1:07 cam A and -1:07 cam B. (I have also used this technique to sync my timecode to the stopwatch on cell phones. Give the cell phone to the reporter or interviewer and instant soundbyte logging.)
Douglas Hunter Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Unfortunately we will have to wait for the 250.
