Kim Walker Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Hi fellow experts... I recently purchased the Gy-HD100U. I have the camera in the HD mode, 24P, output 1080i. I'm puzzled that the black bars top and bottom are on the tape, viewfinder, LCD & the output to the field monitor. If the settings are in the HD mode then I should have a full screen 16:9 picture with out the bars. Any suggestions. Thanks.

And have you checked their menu settings?
Kim Walker Posted September 13, 2006 Author Posted September 13, 2006 Are you outputting to 16x9 monitors? And have you checked their menu settings? Hi david, I can switch 4:3 & 16:9. There is no menu in the monitor.
Kim Walker Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 Are you outputting to 16x9 monitors? And have you checked their menu settings? Hi David, I hooked my camera's output to a native 16:9 60" monitor plasma screen. No bars. The Sony monitor that I have must be native 4:3 with the 16:9 image inside it. I will have to read the manufactures instructions. Maybe there is a setting to make 16:9 image a native image within the 16:9 area. Thanks again David. Kim :)
