Hello,

When using collapsable cores, when the clapper loader unloads are they supposed to put a disposable core in place for the lab?

Thankyou

Al.

Hey Annie and Camillo,

Thankyou for your reply, I rang up one of Australias biggest labs and the feeling I got was that they preferred it, but if there is a chance of damaging the film then leave it up to them - I think while I am new at this game I'll leave it to the lab, then I know I'm not the one that buggered up the allmighty sentimental shot.

Thanks again,

AL

I find it a huge waste of time to put a new core on the roll after it's been removed. How much time do you spend trying to get that core on and making sure the film is actually on it? Especially if you're on a shoot where you're loading and slating. I've never heard the lab complain, it makes downloading a lot faster and I'm handling the film less, which I figure is best considering hand oils and dead skin flakes and all of that other crap that's getting on there.
