Richardson Leao
hi, if I get a mini dv tape from the telecine lab and i wanna then put in the computer to edit it, can I use my normal DV camera to playback/import the DV? Cheers. ricchard
Michael Collier
unless it was recorded as DVCAM or DVCPRO (which it likely would be) check with the lab who did the transfer.
Premium Member Matthew W. Phillips Posted September 19, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted September 19, 2006 The labs I deal with that do MiniDV will give you tapes that will work with any miniDV camcorder. DVCam usually cost extra anyway so I doubt they would give you that when you ask for miniDV. You should be fine since miniDV is a very tightly followed standard. Sam Wells
I've played mini tapes in DVCam format from a Sony DV camera into the computer. I don't know if other brands - Panasonic etc - will do it or not, I don't use DV very much -Sam
