Joe Walker
Just got another job from an old friend. He happens to have a bunch of 7289 laying around and wants to shoot an ultra stylized short film (hehehehehehe). And then it occurred to me....is Kodak going to release anything close to this stock or possibly re-release it? I know it had very limited uses but I kind of liked it. Please don't call me retarded, just curious. Thanks as always. Joe W.
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted November 25, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted November 25, 2006 800T '89 is obsolete for good, and since pushing 500T '18 one-stop yields better results in terms of grain, there isn't a technical reason to bring back '89... however, I hear rumors that Kodak is planning a 1000T stock. Trevor Greenfield
however, I hear rumors that Kodak is planning a 1000T stock. NICE. With the advances Vision 2 has brought I can't wait to see what a stock like that could do. Moonlit with no lights? BTW Joe are you related to the infamous DP of the same name? Joe Walker
No, I wish I was. I get asked that all the time. Back in 2004, I took a tour of the ASC club house and Roy Wagner mentioned the same thing, being that I had the same name as Joseph Walker and was a cinematographer. Small world....common name....a sign from above that my path in life is golden???
