Pablo Herrera
The trailer for this movie is up. Just wondering what you guys think about the look. It is suppose to be in honor of the 70s exploitation film. I think Robert Rodriguez shot his movie in hd and Tarantino went with film. This might hurt your eyes, i dont know. http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/grindhouse.html
Premium Member Jason Debus Posted December 21, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted December 21, 2006 Thanks for the heads up, I love where they're going with this. Over the top sex & violence with a grainy 70s aesthetic. There's also this low quality teaser that they released a while back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5b3cRvtZjo
freddie bonfanti
i heard planet terror was shot with the genesis, but tarantinos looks very film like.
Jonathan Bowerbank
I think it's an effect just for the trailer, all that dust and those scratches on the film, to kinda give it the feel that we're watching an old trailer at a "grindhouse", ha ha Looks like a riot, I can't wait! freddie bonfanti
mmh, although the scratches and dust are obviously made in post i believe that the bar scene with Kurt Russell, and most of those of Tarantino's part look more filmic, check out the highlights and the colors as opposed to the beginning of "planet terror", that first shot in the hospitak looks very HDish. however its hard to tell from a small trailer, but i wouldnt be suprised in Quentin stuck with film one more time...
