Jonathan Bowerbank
Lifts The shot starts from the angle where his crouching position is, then he probably stands up for a higher angle or eye level shot of Ralph Fiennes as he stands from his chair. It's the same type of thing I would have to use to do the same shot, being that I'm only 5'7" :)
Ken Minehan
haha, ok, good call Jonathan. So it's just like standing on a pancake or something for extra height. Premium Member Satsuki Murashige Posted January 19, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted January 19, 2007 As for the cinesaddle, (if that's what it is), maybe the camera gets back-heavy with a big mag on the back and a small prime lens on the front? Or maybe he's filming the POV shot of a fat, drunk character and is doing some "Method" operating.
Christophe Collette
Hi, I watched this interview with Christopher Doyle recently, he talked about this pea bag he ties to his chest, it gives him a bit more steadiness, his elbows usually rest on the bag.... As for the shoes, he seems to wear these all the time, in the making of Lady in the water, he has those same shoes, maybe he likes to be able to look down onto the actors.... Gives him more range.... Cheers! C
