Liam Dale
Hey all, So I am planning on shooting a short film on a Nizo Professional in rural Jamaica next december and I thought it would be nice to find a Eumig Nautica for bad weather/underwater/river walking/whatever scenes. While this isn't a post asking where to find one (though if someone has one gathering dust drop me a line) I more wanted to know if it would be possible to adjust the Eumig to shoot 25 (or 24) fps to match my nizo. If anyone has heard of this being done and could point me in the right direction it would be most appreciated. Liam
Dan Salzmann
I have a Eumig Nautica that runs at 18 fps. Never heard of anyone modding it for 24 fps. Heard that they did make a few though they are rare. Thing is that often light levels underwater are rather low so 18 fps is something that most user's can deal with. Just a little tip: The O ring grease for Nikonos still cameras works just fine for the Nautica. When you find a Nautica, chances are the little tube of Nautica O ring grease will not come with it. Good luck, these are fun cameras for the rain as well as shower scenes :D
jacob thomas
IIRC Bolex in Switzerland does this mod (24fps) although I would expect it to be pretty expensive.
