Jamey Johnson
Does anyone know where I can find outdoor anamorphic lens flare samples/grabs with the sun as the source? Direct sun shots and magic hour shots to be more specific. Thanks!
Premium Member Max Jacoby Posted February 3, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted February 3, 2007 There is one in 'Snow Falling on Cedars', when they walk through the forest. You might be able to find some in 'The Thin Red Line' as well.

John Allardice
another classic Connie Hall set of daylight flares, the ones flickering through the fence in the raindrops keep falling on my head sequence from "Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid". Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted February 3, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted February 3, 2007 There's a tilt down from the sun to Indiana Jones walking through the Tunis dig in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" but the anamorphic flare is somewhat hard to see because of the white-ish sky. I remember that "Doctor Zhivago" had that famous sequence where Yuri walks through the woods looking up at the sun through the trees before he runs into the train -- can't remember the look of the flare in that scene. "Conan the Barbarian" began with a similar looking sunlight-through-trees look during the attack on the village.
Jamey Johnson
Thanks for the responses and the specific examples. It's harder to find examples than I thought it would be. I'll go through the posted movies. On a different subject, does anyone know how many posts I need to have in order to fix my typo and for my posts to show up in "recent posts".
