white background for mac ad

i have a client wanting to create an advert similar to the mac ads but the problem i have right now is to create the absolute white background.

Any advice on this? The lowest cost possible way?

Hi,

 

Well, it's a white cove and even lighting. You can overexpose the background a bit so it clips which will help to even out any glitches, but that can have an unpleasant effect on the edge of foreground objects, especially if they're out of focus. Cheapest way is a Colorama roll and kino-flos, depending how large you need it to be.

 

Many studios, especially fashion stills studios, have white, grey or coloured coves installed. Look what's available for rental in your area.

Hi,

 

The Bg in your example is not absolutely white!

 

Try to Key light both people & background with a big soft key, then add some extra light on the gackground.

 

I shot this last week, sorry I don't have any full body frames at the moment.

I'm so sorry all i have done are weddings and outdoor shoots using really simple lighting. can someone elaborate the instructions on key lighting etc and wad kind of lights can i get? Any specific brands? models?

Hi,

 

I had to work with what the producer had, that was 2x 5k frenel's both bounced off a large white board. This alone 'lit the scene' then 1 kiniflo side light plus 2 redheads on the white. I also had a dedolight highlight on her face but you only see that when she turns her head.

Hi Sean,

 

1) Above the camera but to 1 side fix a large white board or bed sheet.

2) Point the brightest light you have at the white

3) Use a flood light on the white from both sides

4) Add a slight side/back light if you can
