Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted February 18, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted February 18, 2007 I'm not sure if that's exactly the right term (I've heard of the Aaton and Arri "link" versions) -- basically it's a reader in the telecine that either reads the Arricode/Aatoncode (time code) that was burned into the neg for "instant" syncing with dailies. As opposed to say an Everetz keycode reader. -Rob-
Michael Most
We have two, I generally thought that Keylink was the Aaton brand name for their Keycode reading system. As opposed to say an Everetz keycode reader. That's basically correct. The Aaton Keylink system involves both hardware and software to read keycode and various timecodes, generate database files (FTL, Flex), and insert various windows on the video image. It also can sync sound when used with an Aaton Indaw recorder and software options.
