Hey,

 

Quick Question...if someone says they are shooting Super 35mm on an Arri 3...what type of camera is this? Is that a common name for the BL3 or is there another camera by this name...I just wanted to ask around before I asked them.

It's the Arri 3:

 

 

It's an MOS camera capable of high speed (generally 120fps), predecessor to the 435.

 

Interestingly, I just googled "arri 3" to find that image...

Hi,

 

Not ideal for S35, as the mirror will hit many Zeiss lenses when the mount is recentered. Also viewing optics dont cover S35 as standard.

You're so right, I AC'd a shoot with one rented from Clairmont and on top there was a placquard that said ''NOT FOR USE WITH T1.3 PRIMES"

Hi,

 

Some people don't move the mount, then you can't use zoom's as they will vignette! Probably the main reason Arri III's go for peanuts.
