siddharth diwan
I saw this film where the character was moving normally and the cars and everything else around him was in slow motion dat too a bit blurry...how is that done?
Dory Breaux DP
I have heard of it being done with REALY good chroma keying... but that seems like it would be rather... aggravating?
Premium Member Michael Nash Posted April 13, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted April 13, 2007 You mean like this? Compositing and motion control, in this case.
Nick Mulder
Read up on green-screening and motion control (if the camera was moving) there are some great "how this was done" vids you can download here - including the "shots of mixed film speeds" section
David Sweetman
I have heard of it being done with REALY good chroma keying... but that seems like it would be rather... aggravating? no, rotoscoping is the aggravating one.
siddharth diwan
No motion jus a simple static block shot how does that happen
Nick Mulder
Read up on green screening, rotoscoping, chroma keying, compositing and punctuation. After-effects, Shake, Flame etc... are programs to read up on. Have you ever played around with masks and layers in photoshop ? The link I gave for motion control will still be helpful as the movies show the compositing process in action (just pretend the camera isn't moving). Also we are making an assumption you know how to achieve speed effects in camera in the first place - do you know about over and undercranking ? what about shutter angles for more or less motion blur ? You will find you get more help if you are specific and less broad with your queries ...
