Premium Member David Regan Posted May 10, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted May 10, 2007 I am working on putting some stuff together to put in my showcase reel. However some of the stuff is in different aspect ratios. Does anyone have any thoughts on if it is a bad idea to mix aspect ratios? I've read elsewhere that people are bothered by it, but I'm not sure if its really possible to work around. Should I just put things of same aspect ratio together in the reel so it doesn't jump around a lot, or is it really not a problem at all? Thanks
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted May 10, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted May 10, 2007 I didn't particularly find it to be a problem when I made up my last reel, nor did anyone I showed it to so I would say go for it. But it could be useful to keep clips with similar aspect rations together, ya know.
Premium Member Chris Keth Posted May 10, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted May 10, 2007 I can show you what I did later today maybe. I sized the quicktime to the tallest aspect ratio s that the 1.78 clips have no letter box. Then everything wider than 1.78 has a little letter box. Nobody has complained. Andres Pardo aka Gral Treegan
HI i think nobody care about mixing aspect ratios in a demo reel. its like mixing video and film for a movie! if the movie is fine nobody care of the mixture. bye!
