Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted June 7, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted June 7, 2007 Reala 500D is a bit fast for doing day-for-night -- you'd need a ton of ND filters, plus most people do day-for-night using tungsten stocks so they can get a blue look. 500D is the only Reala stock in the Fuji line. You'd be better off using Eterna 250T and even then, you'll need a lot of ND, a Pola, etc.
Ernest Cahl
hello , thsmk you for the advice , i know about the Pola - nevr did it before but i ve checked the chapter A.C.M . the shot will be very complicated ; the actress will be walking along a river .i ll put a Zeiss 10-100 on CM1 and taker her up form a bridge aside . Patrick Cooper
There may be an additional benefit of using a polariser. Polarising filters tend to impose a slight 'cool' look to a scene. So this may add just a little bit to the blueness that is usually favoured in 'day-for-night' shooting.

David , you said pola , ND and etc .. what will be the etc ? thanks anyway . E Edited June 16, 2007 by Ernest Cahl
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted June 16, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted June 16, 2007 David , you said pola , ND and etc .. what will be the etc ? Possibly an ND grad as well if the sky is in the shot, besides the Pola.
