Tommy Hughes
Please help. I'm looking to buy a new camera and here are my options The one I'm probably going to end up buying is this one http://www.usaphotonation.com/products.asp...mp;dept_id=2527 the 700 package. However, I was wondering if THIS camera was better? What would be a better buy for a more professional look? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1166840341098 Thx for your help! Nate Downes
The Panasonic is better. That JVC camera takes a decent picture, but the Panasonic is much, much better once you get into the editing side of things in my experience.
Ricky Norris
Um I'm not positive, but I think that first link for the panasonic camera is a scam, make sure you check out resellerratings before buying from them. Be careful! As far as the cameras themselves, I know that alot of people, including myself, have had good experiences with the dvx. Its a dependable camera with a good rep. Features have been shot on it. Edited June 20, 2007 by Ricky Norris
AdamBray
$1,000 for a new DVX100B and $30 batteries going for $150 and $60 batteries going for $250?????????????????? You're about to get totally scammed. Also, I'm not a fan of built in HDs. I like to record to some type of media. What if your computer has problems importing from that camera? You can't pop the tape out and try another camera. You're in trouble then. Edited June 21, 2007 by AdamBray
Jamie Lewis
$1,000 for a new DVX100B and $30 batteries going for $150 and $60 batteries going for $250?????????????????? They rip everything out of the box and sell the necessary items, such as a battery and charger as "extras." Look at their Resellerating.com score. http://www.resellerratings.com/store/USA_Photo_Nation I almost fell for one of those traps. Thank goodness for Google. If it's too good to be true with electronics, especially video cameras, it's in fact too good to be true 100% of the time.
Josh Brokenbourgh
Yeah there are a lot of those gray market guys out there. Sometimes, if you get what you ordered, you find out it's used- you find out there's no warranty. I heard of getting gutted cameras, or ones with nothing included. Those prices should tell you right off the bat that there is something wrong.
