How to format a new memory stick ? HDW 900H

I have a new 512mb Lexar memory stick pro to format.

Do not have the maintenance manual, have the operation manual pdf.

Using HDW 900 H camera.

 

any tips on easy way to format this stick ?

It probably came from a PC and has wrong format.

Operation manual does not cover formatting.

The Memory Stick format is in the File Menu: <FILE CLEAR> F7, MS FORMAT (It's second from the bottom).

 

The camera mightn't actually format that stick. They seem to like the older MS.

A lot of Sony cameras can't accept memory sticks larger than 64mb, period. Hard to find 'em that small anymore, so good luck.

thanks , I tried that earlier but it gives me format error..

I guess it doesn't like the MS Pro stick with magicgate.

Older and smaller sized memory sticks are easily available on ebay. I get them there by the handful. Good luck.
