Recommended Posts

Hello,

I came across these lights on line, they look just like Arries but way cheaper. I was wondering if any one has actually used them and know if they are any good. They are called BluLine and here is the link:

I wonder why the Germans don't use Las Vegas showgirls to sell their products.

The last time I saw lighting knock offs, they were Indian made inspired by Mole Richardson designs. They were terrible. If you look into buying these Arri knock offs try to find out where they are made (China??) and see if you can get a money back gaurentee before you do.

If you can't then don't. Stick with the tried and true.

Best

Tim

you need to check out this thread at dvx user:

http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=85829

it's very long and is about someone asking the same question you have. Some people actually ordered them and posted pictures (on page 6 I saw pictures)

I'm shocked - they actually look legit. and they're really not too far from the B&H price which is only around $100 to $200 more. I may look into buying a few of these.

I didn't read every page of the thread at DVX user, but read enough to dicern that the far east ARRI clones were junk. While the housing may be the same (patent violation), the globes were inferior and the wiring was unable to withstand the heat. So it's your choice, you can save a few dollars and buy junk or buy ARRI, Mole-Richardson, Altman, Strand, QuartzColor, etc.
