pascal Boyer
Hello everybody, i'm shooting a low budget video in three days and i need an advice for one shot : the actress is supposed to put her head in the sink (full of water) for a while , and i need to see her face all the time ,like if the camera was also inside the sink . I have a canon xl2 and a very small camera not bigger than a lighter: (http://www.camera-sports.fr/F_frame.html?http://www.camera-sports.fr/). My idea was to buy a transparent plexiglas box and to put the small camera inside, but if we do it with the xl2 ,shooting from underneath the box, will i see the reflections or the fact that there is a plastic box in front of the lense? ideas ? suggestions ? thank you
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted October 16, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted October 16, 2007 Just make sure that it is black all-around the camera lens, or that the lens/mattebox is right up against the plexi so the plexi is only reflecting that dark hole. Douglas Sunlin
Would you be lighting her face from above and expecting a reflection in the plexiglas to illuminate her features?
pascal Boyer
Would you be lighting her face from above and expecting a reflection in the plexiglas to illuminate her features? Hello, yes i was thinking about that but if it causes a problem of reflection i won't do it. I have a kinoflo 2 banks, 2 x arri 300 w ,1 x150 watts and a red head . thanks for the replies !! If her face is in the water, facing down, how will her face be illuminated? I was not suggesting that you put a light under the sink. You will have to rely on light entering the sink from above and bouncing around inside the sink until her face is visible.
Premium Member Michael Nash Posted October 18, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted October 18, 2007 It's not that hard to frame out the reflection of something like a single Kino tube for a shot like this. You can add fill from the camera side if you want to.
