Premium Member Tim Carroll Posted March 12, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted March 12, 2008 Philip, A few of questions. When was the last time the camera and mags were serviced and by whom? And is the Cooke 10.4 to 52 lens the Cooke Super 16 lens, or is it the Cooke 9 to 50 lens with the Optex (or some other brand) conversion? What is the mount on the Cooke lens, is it ARRI bayonet with an Aaton or PL adapter, or is it an Aaton mount or PL mount? And finally, what is the mount on the camera, Aaton or PL? Thanks, -Tim

Thanks, -Tim Able cine has taken care of the camera since 97' It has not been in for over 2 years but I have no shot more then 100 400' loads from the last overhaul. It is the 9 to 50 with the Optex conversion. It is really sharp! Lens and camera are Aaton mount.
Premium Member Tim Carroll Posted March 16, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted March 16, 2008 It is the 9 to 50 with the Optex conversion. It is really sharp! Then wouldn't it be a Cooke 10.8 - 60 zoom lens, instead of the "Cooke 10.4 to 52 zoom lens" you originally listed? Best, -Tim
Philip J. Martinez
No it is A 10.4 to 52 zoom 2.8 is as opened as it goes 1'6" close focus are you intersted in the package?

That is really interesting. I've seen two other Cooke 9 to 50 VarioKinetals with the Optex conversions and both of them ended up being 10.8 to 60 lenses. Wonder how yours came out different?
