Cale Erickson
I thought this was quite interesting. It just touches on some of his thoughts as a Cinematographer, but doesn't go into too much detail. I have a tremendous amount of respect for this man, and I'm sure you do too. Hope you enjoy this brief little interview. P.S. Reveals his desire to direct too...intriguing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ER0b0zKNzKY
Tom Lowe
Great find. He called the Oscar. He probably he knew his own vote would be split. Definitely interesting that he wants to direct.
Premium Member Chris Keth Posted March 13, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted March 13, 2008 That could be interesting if he directs one day. I don't know why but I wasn't expecting such a soft-spoken guy. He seems quite shy at times.
Serge Teulon
Great find! Also, in the dvd extras of "The man that wasn't there" you'll find a good in depth interview about his thoughts and ideas. Cheers S
Jonathan Bowerbank
I'm kinda the same way in regards to directing. I think I could do a good job on set, blocking and directing actors & camera. But most everything that comprises pre-prod and fund raisingthat can take place a year to two years before principal photography would just bore me to death very quickly. Tom Lowe
Aside from people like Michael Bay, probably most of the people who could be directors would hate all the BS that goes along with funraising and sucking kneecaps.
