Jean-Louis Seguin
Does anyone know what is the specification of the pilot bulb inside the original Beaulieu 5008 charger rated at 50mA. You know the square grey box type. I also wouldn't mind finding out the specs for the 4008 (30mA) and the R16 (90mA) chargers. Thanks! Jim Carlile
It's an LED isn't it? If so, it should never go out-- if it does, there's a bigger fault than that. They're just trickle chargers-- you could use any of close voltage the only problem would be the connectors.

Hi Jim, The ones I'm talking about use an actual bulb and I think the bulb might have something to do with the current regulation. That's why I need the exact value. Besides, I want to restore the unit to it's original functioning. Cheers, Jean-Louis

R16: 50mA charger, 6V 0,6A. R16: 90mA charger, 1,5V 0,1A. I have several.
Jean-Louis Seguin
4008: 30mA charger, 2,5V 0,06A fuse bulb.5008: 50mA charger, 6V 0,6A. R16: 50mA charger, 6V 0,6A. R16: 90mA charger, 1,5V 0,1A. I have several. Thank you Bjorn, that is exactly the information I needed. I would like to obtain some. Please contact me by private message to give me information on ordering. Thanks. Jean-Louis Seguin
Jean-Louis Seguin
I finally did order the bulbs from Bjorn and they work fine. However, I should correct some information. Bjorn gave this as the different bulb's rating: 4008: 30mA charger, 2,5V 0,06A fuse bulb. 5008: 50mA charger, 6V 0,6A. R16: 50mA charger, 6V 0,6A. R16: 90mA charger, 1,5V 0,1A. No problem for the 4008 and R16 90mA information. For the two 50mA chargers, it should read: 5008: 50mA charger, 6V 0,6W (which is 0,1A or 100mA) R16: 50mA charger, 6V 0,6W (which is 0,1A or 100mA) Cheers, Jean-Louis

The bulb is a standard component and can be bought everywhere. Check for example www.conrad.de Or shops around the corner so to say.
