35mm slide film substitue for 16mm

I am planning on shooting 35mm slide film until i can afford my own 16mm camera to learn/experiment with light.

However, i am not sure what stock to start shooting on.

Is anyone aware of a 35mm slide stock that is comparable to any available 16mm film stock?

Also, is the aspect ratio the same on 35mm still film vs. 16mm cine film?

Thanks-

Nicholas

The ektachrome 100D 16mm film is made from one of the Slide stocks, also the germans in the aftermarket make a 16mm Stock out of Fuji Velva 50D

NOPE

A standard 35 mm slide is the same ratiom (and actually the same size) as 35mm VistaVison.

35mm Kodak EK100VS still film is identical to 5285/7285 (I confirmed this with John Pytlak before we lost him). Anything you learn with 100VS is going to be directly transferable to the motion picture film variant.
