Charles Morabito Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 I will soon be starting a feature length documentary which I will be directing and shooting. For the project, I am planning on purchasing a camera. As of right now, I am most interested in purchasing the JVC 110U or the 200. How do these cameras hold up? How sensitive are they? I had one person tell me the 110U captures beautiful pictures, but requires alot of light for decent exposure? If anyone can, please fill me in on how these cameras perfrom and why I should consider buying them over other competition!
Brian Drysdale Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 So far as light sensitivity is concerned, the JVC's are much the same as the other 1/3" HDV cameras. However, the Standard gamma appears to be about 2/3 of stop more sensitive than the Cinema gamma setting. Tim Dashwood has some low light menu settings for the camera on DVInfo. They're very good for long sustained handheld shots when you've got a radio mic together with a shotgun mic mounted on board.
