Fred Neilsen
Hello again I have a couple of questions regarding Bolex lubrication 1) Should I attempt to do this myself or should I pay a man $125 to do it for me -is it worth the risk (breaking the camera) -is it hard to do (I have used the bolex several times, but only in rental situations, therefore I have not had to maintain one) 2) What type of oil should I use and what tools will I need 3) What is the procedure for lubricating a bolex, in steps 4) how often should I do this? Thanks In advanced Fred
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted January 28, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted January 28, 2009 With cameras, as they are often substantial investments, I always recommend erring on the side of letting the pros handle it. I would speak with a bolex technician on your cameras specific needs and allow him/her to do the more "delicate" (read - taking apart major parts of the camera) maintenance.
