Nizo 156 macro - good choice?

Hi,

 

Im new to super8-cameras - and could use some advice. Will the camera be quiet enough to record sound indoors? What are your thoughts? Also, the camera runs on batteries, right?

Virtually all of the four digit model numbered Nizo's were made to be real quiet. (example, the 6080, 6056, 2056, 3048, etc...)

Would you say the Macro-Variogon 1.8 / 7 - 56 (Schneider - Kreuznach) is good?

(I mean the lense, of course!)

It's probably a fine lens. One unproven method, call it a hunch, when it comes to lenses. The closer the lens will focus when in the telephoto mode, generally the better the lens.

 

Many Super-8 cameras focus down to 5 foot, but others will focus from 4.5 feet to as close as 3 ft while in the telephoto setting, usually those cameras have good lenses.

 

Ultimately what you see when you get your film back is the most important issue.
