Edgar Dubrovskiy
Hi! Researching for my next project. Was wondering if anyone had experience shooting stop-motion on Arriflex SR3. How did it go? What extra equipment (like ECU ets) did you use? Thanks!
timHealy
You would have to look into the tech specs but if i recall correctly the SR' could not do single frame on their own. You would have to get a chip installed from cinematography electronics and use their controller. IS that what you meant by your question? Edgar Dubrovskiy
Thanks Tim, yes, that's what I kind of meant by the question. Do you know if the chip is the only way to make SR3 work for animation?
timHealy
Thanks Tim, yes, that's what I kind of meant by the question. Do you know if the chip is the only way to make SR3 work for animation? Norris was/is a company that made an intervalometer with a lens capping device. I haven't seen one in some time and am not sure if they made one for the SR, but it may be worth some searching. Edgar Dubrovskiy
Thanks! Called Arri Media last week - they offered help once again - they've got an intervalometer for SR3 with 1 frame capability.
Olex Kalynychenko
Thanks Tim, yes, that's what I kind of meant by the question. Do you know if the chip is the only way to make SR3 work for animation? I can propose of other ways. 1. Kinor-16 SX-2M camera, upgrade of original motor on motor with time lapse. (I can do this upgrade.) 2. any other 16 mm cine camera, like russian studio 16 mm 16SK-2, with registration pin, DC motor, and to upgrade of motor control on crystal sync speed conrtol with time lapse. ( I can do this upgrade ). 3. Any other 16 mm mechanical cine camera with signle shootin mode : Krasnogrosk-1,2,3, Kiev-16 U, Alpha-16. But, all of this cameas do not have of registration pin and value of frame stobilityy do not high from value of profesional cine cameras with registration pin.
